
DAY 1
A. INTRODUCTION
Actor/Student presentation and discussion to:
- Meet all the participants;
- Familiarize students with the techniques to be learned;
- Ease students into speaking spontaneously in English.
B. WARM UP
C. REPETITIONS
To sensitize students to the nuances of English tonalities, the modes of English expression and their meanings, and the appropriate responses.
D. DYNAMIC CROSS
Allow students to spontaneously convey specific reactions and intentions using the modes of English expression within a limited timeframe.
E. DOUBLE DYNAMIC CROSS
Encourages students to interact spontaneously with someone in a critical situation, using the modes of English expression to convey intentions, reactions and emotions within a very limited timeframe.
F. INTERACTIONS - 3 minute scenes
Allow students to expand their communication in face-to-face
discussions using both oral and physical communication techniques.
Emphasis on:
- Use of tonality and vocabulary to convey specific points;
- Appropriate reactions (both verbal and tonal);
- Justification of given position;
- Interaction and/or negotiation to arrive at a resolution
(Situations created to encourage interaction, negotiating, presentation and interviewing skills)
G. COLLECTIVE NARRATIVE:
Exercises focusing on listening, creativity, fluidity, and spontaneous communication within a group dynamic.

DAY 2
A. WARM UP
B. CONFERENCES / MEETINGS
Allow students to listen and communicate in a multi-participant atmosphere.
C. OBJECTIVE SCENES
Allow participants to:
- Perfect their spontaneous English communication skills,
- Use the modes of English expression learned to clearly communicate their objectives;
- Negotiate and resolve the situation.
A specific situation, and a list of objectives, will be distributed to each participant
on Day 1, so that they can familiarize themselves with their arguments over night.
Each participant will be asked to engage in an in-depth interaction on DAY 2,
using their negotiating skills to arrive at a resolution or a satisfactory conclusion regarding their assigned arguments.
D. PRESENTATIONS
Offers participants the opportunity to work on their public speaking skills and receive individual coaching.
E. CONFERENCE CALLS
Allow students to hone their telephone and listening skills to work effectively on the telephone.
F. RESOLVING “INDIVIDUAL SITUATIONS”
Allows each student to choose a specific situation to resolve or an area in which they would like to improve:
- Their ability to communicate;
- Their personal expression; and/or
- The outcome achieved.
Allow students to apply what they have learned and achieve satisfying outcomes
to their individual situations, thus reinforcing the students’ confidence and ability to express themselves effectively and spontaneously in English.
G. “WRAP SESSION”
Instructors’ impressions and “evaluations” regarding the progress of each individual. Students are encouraged to express their feelings regarding the course and what they have learned.
*All exercises integrate the notion and importance of cultural differences.
